Safety Statement

Climbing, hill walking and mountaineering can provide life-long physical, social and mental health benefits through exercise and adventure in amazing environments. The BMC recognises these activities involve a risk of personal injury or death. Participants should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement.

BMC Participation Statement (Further details on BMC safety can be found www.thebmc.co.uk).

My Commitment to Safety

I am a professionally qualified and experienced mountaineering instructor, holding public liability insurance and full membership with the Association of Mountaineering Instructors (AMI). I also hold the Military Alpine Mountain Leader qualification (UIAA Recognised), alongside civilian awards including Summer and Winter Mountain Leader, Rock Climbing Instructor, and Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor.

I maintain high standards of client care and safety. However, climbing and mountaineering are inherently risky activities. While risk can be managed and minimised, it cannot be entirely eliminated.

For safety reasons — most often due to weather or environmental conditions — I may adjust the location or itinerary of a course. I’ll always aim to stay true to the original plan and will discuss any changes, alternatives, or contingencies with you in advance.

Your Responsibility as a Participant

By booking with Ullr Adventures, you acknowledge that climbing and mountaineering carry a risk of injury or death. You agree to take responsibility for your own actions and to follow all safety instructions and guidance provided during the activity.

Failure to follow safety instructions may result in the termination of the activity without refund.

More information on safety and risk in climbing and mountaineering is available via the British Mountaineering Council (BMC).

Equipment and Personal Property

• I accept no responsibility for personal property that is lost or damaged during an activity.

• Any equipment loaned to you that is damaged due to misuse must be paid for in full.

Medical Conditions

Any medical conditions, injuries, or factors that may affect your participation must be declared on your booking form. If anything changes after submission, please contact me before the course so I can support your wellbeing appropriately. If you cancel due to being ill on the day (cold, flu, COVID etc) and cannot attend you will still be liable for the full fee amount.

Under 18s

Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
